The siege escalation mechanic keeps every round tense right up to the wall breach, and I've lost count of how many times I've replayed the southern border scenario. Solo mode plays surprisingly tight for a tower defense style game, no easy wins here.

The tension of watching the monster-kin hordes close in on the southern border kept me on edge the whole game. Managing my defenders against those engines of war felt genuinely challenging without being unfair. Already ordered the next expansion.
