I was worried a roll-and-write would feel too solitary, but rolling those four dice on your own turn while everyone else watches keeps the table talking. The two shared dice that activate citizens for all players at once is a clever twist I didn't see coming.

The simultaneous citizen activation keeps everyone at the table engaged instead of waiting for their turn, which is huge for our group of five. The way two dice activate citizens for everyone at once keeps all players engaged even on someone else's turn, which is rare for this genre. Six dice total makes each roll feel weighty without slowing the game down.
